A great offer of holiday accomodations on the sunny seaside of Spain needs a welcoming website. This project gave me a subtle glance back to my hospitality studies, while allowing me to flesh out a new experience when it came to web development; the use and set-up of a booking system. The project included the creating of a brand, web development, and web design.
The first step was to create a brand that captured the warmth and hospitality of the holiday accomodations. A use of soft pastely warm colors and sun-like yellows attempting to capture those sunny summer senses. A personal offer of local tips, personifying the experience. This was the first project for me where i was really working with a blank slate, and I could make all branding decisions. Where most of my other projects have been branding updates, Casita Judisha was one that I, together with the client, built from the ground up. I had to take a holistic approach.
This could only be done with diligent and clear communication with the client. Clarity in expectations and desires was established early on, with multiple deliverables being provided frequently to continue to assess whether everything was on track. With this way of communication I ensured the final deliverable met demands.
A website where anyone could book an accomodation and manage their booking. A request simple enough, though not as simple as it may seem. The internet is saturated with different types of booking programs. Finding one that fit the desires of the client well was a challenge, but I found the right tool for the job with Lodgify. Integrating the pre-established brand and fitting that seamlessly into a Wordpress website was a challenge. But when has that ever been a problem? I managed and created a fluid connection between the two, creating a unifying experience allowing for the flexibility of a fully fledged CMS like Wordpress and the booking capabilities of Lodgify.
